Overview
On 26th December 2024, the club Ignited Minds of the CSE-AI branch conducted an event titled “Flowing with Plant UML.” The session aimed to introduce participants to the versatile tool Plant UML, enabling them to create dynamic diagrams for software design and system visualization. The event began with an overview of the importance of diagramming in software engineering, emphasizing how clear visual representations enhance understanding and collaboration in projects. Participants were introduced to the basics of PlantUML, including its syntax.

Key topics covered included creating sequence diagrams, class diagrams, activity diagrams, and use case diagrams. The session demonstrated how to use PlantUML's simple textual descriptions to generate high-quality diagrams, focusing on the efficiency and ease of using this tool compared to traditional drag-and-drop diagramming software.Participants engaged in hands-on exercises where they wrote PlantUML scripts to visualize system architecture, workflows, and process flows. The event also highlighted advanced features like styling options, embedding diagrams in documentation, and exporting them in various formats.Led by P N Shreelekha , Sanjana A P and Divya Meghana of CSE-AI, 5th Sem, the session offered practical insights and real-world examples, encouraging participants to adopt PlantUML as a valuable skill for academic and professional projects.
Objectives
- Conducted a student development program (SDP) on Promt Engineering
- The workshop was meticulously designed to cater to both beginners and intermediate users, ensuring that all participants could enhance their understanding of this skill
- This enhanced in providing both theoretical and practical sessions
