Industrial Consultancy
The college has initiated a unique programme wherein, industries offer project works tot he students as an elective and provide in-plant training. Many industries like Jindal Vijayanagar Steel Plant, Navakarnataka Steels ltd., and National Mineral Development Corporation have assured their support to make this venture a success.

Training & Placement Cell
Placement to the students is given top priority. The students are given continuous training and orientation towards this. For this academic year, majority of the students are already placed in various reputed companies like; Infosys Technologies, Siemens, Keane Software, L&T Infotech, Robosoft, KPIT Cummins, Tech Mahindra, JSW Steels, etc.,

Over the years, the quality of the academic education at BITM has ensured that the college is regarded highly by various leading industries. A pro-active placement cell invites organizations to visit the College for campus placements. It also provides students with training and resources to equip them with the necessary skills needed for their dream job.

Department of Training and Placement enriches the skills of students to cater to the requirements of Industries and to take up Technical and Professional responsibilities. The training cell starts its activities for a student right from their First year onwards. The Training Cell Organizes the Career Guidance Program, Personality Development Program to make the transition smooth for the students. Students are given Aptitude, Communication and other relevant Interview trainings to face the challenges in the job scenario.

Parent Interaction Cell
The cell has been constituted with an objective to provide information to parents regarding the performance of their ward. This helps the parents to actively participate in the growth of their ward and guide them accordingly. Reports about students' progress and attendance are regularly sent to the parents.

National Service Scheme (NSS)
The college has a National Service Scheme (NSS) wing which aims to develop the personality of students through community service. This helps them to relate themselves better with the society and thereby inculcate a sense of social and civic responsibility. NSS also trains the young minds to combat emergencies and natural disasters.

Alumni Association

ISTE Chapter
The Indian Society for Technical Education is a national, professional, non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. Association of Principals of Technical Institution (APTI) was transformed into "Indian Society for Technical Education" in 1968 with a view to broaden its activities to advance the cause of technological education.

The major objectives of the ISTE is to assist the contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organizations.

Being the only national organization of educators in the field of Engineering & Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, AICTE/ DST/ MIT/ State Govt. are well associated with the ISTE for programmes relating to Technical Education.

Objectives of ISTE

The major objectives of the ISTE are to:

1. formulate the general goals and responsibilities of technical education.
2. modify curriculum and educational processes to changing conditions.
3. develop effective teachers and educational administrators.
4. improve instructional methods and practices and administrative usages;
5. enhance professional ideals and standards
6. foster research as complementary to teaching.
7. cultivate fraternal spirit amongst the teachers, administrators, industrialists & professionals.
8. bring about effective linkage between technical institutions, industry and society; and
9. award Honorary fellowships, Awards and Prizes for furthering the objectives of Technical Education.

Activities of ISTE

Some of the major activities of the ISTE are;

1. Curriculum development and updating.
2. AICTE sponsored STTPs for engineering teachers and practicing professionals;
3. Preparation of teacher-manuals and other instructional resource materials under ISTE-LMP;
4. Preparation of LMs for working professionals in selected areas under ISTE-WPLP;
5. Special short-term programmes for teachers organized by ISTE-industries and other professional organizations;
6. Seminars/ workshops/ conferences on topics of relevance to Technical Education;
7. Information Technology oriented programmes;
8. Project formulation, implementation and appraisal;
9. Preparation of directories on technical education facilities/ expertise;
10. Publication of a bi-monthly ISTE Newsletter;
11. Publication of quarterly Indian Journal of Technical Education;
12. Publication of ISTE Handbook;
13. Publication of Learning materials in the area of Electronics and Computer under ISTE-LMP;
14. Publication of various monograms
