BITM was started under the aegis of T.E.H.R.D. Trust, Bellary in the year 1997. The Institution is recognized by Govt. of Karnataka, approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum.

I have recently visited BITM and saw the campus developed by 10 fold compared to what it was during 1999-2003. I can say simply one of the best institutions in the region, according to the faculty expertise and infrastructure. I am proud to be an Alumni of BITM
